The first time was pretty sweet!
You can't underestimate the power of great leadership both on and off the pitch.
They knew what they had to do in order to become the first school to win both age groups in the same year.
team talk photos always give me goose bumps - the words, excitement, nervous energy.
Some teams are warming up 10 mins before a final but we knew that Listening to Al Pacino's 'Inch by Inch' speech would be our secret weapon.
The positivity and encouragement of players on the sideline is unquestionably a key factor to a team's performance.
This key player was injured from Day 1 of the tournament but this didn't stop you hearing her encourage every player from the sideline. It's easy to stand on the side feeling sorry for yourself but that's not what she is all about. This sequel ALWAYS makes me smile.
The injured ankle definitely got worse over the course of the celebrations!
Smiles all round
One way to get the girls to train the last sunday running up to nationals is to organise a pre-training brunch with a few of their guilty pleasures!
"Do today what others won't, so tomorrow you can achieve what other's cant'
I told you it was going to be hard work but all those extra fitness sessions would be worth it!
the girls who did exactly what it said on their hands
It's hard to take it in at the time but these photos show what it meant to the players and parents after winning National Schools over the years.
The parents get the rough deal on the side-line with the stress they get put through at times! Luckily this is their reward.
As the girls will tell you, a rare relaxed smile at Nationals!
They won every tournament they entered and only lost 3 school games in 7 years. Wins included U15 National School's Champions 2010, U19 Champions 2011 & 2013.... not bad for a class of 40 to choose from!
All those cold mornings on the sideline, early school runs for training not to mention paying for new kit and equipment, was worth it! The parents have always been hugely most supportive and made Godolphin lacrosse like one big happy family. Many happy memories and life-long friendships have been formed over the years that I am extremely grateful for.
A great way to finish Godolphin with a 16-4 win in the final and a lot of laughs along the way.
One day you're school teammates and the next you're International rivals....still all smiles!
What makes this photo more hilarious than the picture itself, is how mortified they will be that i have posted it!
Fantastic to see these two players representing on the world stage - with the player on the right names as U19 England Captain.
Great having 8 Godolphin players in total at the U19 World Cup 2011. They definitely brought back their experiences and showed these on the school pitch.
Great to see two sisters representing U19 Wales.
the first time twins have represented Oxford and Cambridge 1st lacrosse team.
My faithful friend was a true lacrosse fan watching the girls train form the office door. He was a stick carrier and ball collector extraordinaire!
something about this picture i'll always love.
Getting ready to beat Bishops 1st XV for the last time.
I can honestly say that the last 6 years coaching at Godolphin has given me priceless memories and friendships. I am hugely thankful to all those who have played a part in these. I told you all those hideous extra fitness sessions over the years would be worth it! xx
