Storm says

Daisy is one of the most driven, ambitious and committed young athletes I have come across and that's a huge statement considering the number of top junior regional and international athletes I've been surrounded by over the last 15 years.

What makes her stand out is the determination, work rate and self-sacrifice that she shows which are way beyond her years. Not many junior athletes have the mindset or maturity to forgo the daily socialising of a teenager to fit in extra training/competitions both during and after school hours as well as the majority of her weekends.

Daisy possesses innate athleticism and endurance, allowing her to be a formidable all round athlete. She is hugely talented in many disciplines and I have no doubt that when she tries her hand at the two additional sports she is interested in, triathlon and rowing, we will see some fantastic results before she decides which single sport she will focus on in the future and achieve her dream of international representation.

I was hugely humbled and impressed when Daisy asked if she could help DBA's focus charity, Sporting Chance International. She set up a school campaign to raise awareness of our Jigger's Disease Initiative and coordinated trainer donations amongst her peers and at the local sports park which will be taken out to Kenya and gratefully received by the sufferers of this crippling disease.

She has a hugely exciting future ahead of her and we cannot wait to see which is her chosen sport, or sport that chooses her, and support our first Junior Ambassador through what we know will be a hugely successful career.

AMBASSADORS INTERVIEW:

WHO INSPIRES YOU AND WHY?

Marilyn Okoro – Marilyn is amazing. She’s given me her time and her support and it’s been such huge part of my desire to become an athlete. I’ve watched her train and trained with her and it really made me appreciate the commitment and sacrifice needed to make it to the highest level. She’s so humble and so kind too.

Sam Briggs - she's an incredible athlete. Known for her 'Engine' as well as her athleticism she's the consummate strength endurance role model. CrossFit Games winner and multiple top 5 finisher, world record rower and former triathlete - she is a huge inspiration. Added to all this she's still incredibly humble too.

WHO'S HAD THE BIGGEST INFLUENCE ON YOUR CAREER?

I’ve had three major influences; my Mum and Dad who have always supported me and set an example through their own participation and the encouragement they always give me in whatever I am doing.

Also Storm (named as Stormzy  by our family.. which has stuck with everyone!), I am not just saying that because I’m an ambassador for her brand – I really mean it. Storm has been there on cold, dark nights, she is always ready to give me the most valuable of gifts – her time. Her belief in me will allow me to achieve my dreams.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE QUOTE?

Train insane or remain the same.

WHO IS YOUR FAVOURITE ATHLETE?

Maddie Hinch the GB Women’s Hockey Goalkeeper. I’ve been lucky to have met Maddie a couple of times. She’s so lovely in person and so fierce and brave on the hockey pitch. I loved watching her and the team win gold in Rio – they were all inspirational.

WHAT IS YOUR PRE-COMPETITION RITUAL?

It’s not a pre-comp ritual; however after every big event, through either nerves or exertion, I am always ill. Post Nationals I was super sick in the car park and my Dad took a picture out of pride!

WHAT SONG BEST DESCRIBES YOU?

I am not sure it describes me….. but I like to train to Lose Yourself by Eminem.

WHICH ACTRESS WOULD YOU LIKE TO PLAY YOU IN YOUR LIFE FILM?

Maddie Ziegler (dancer from Dance Moms!)

5 THINGS YOU CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT?

My Family, dogs, phone, trainers and Jaffa Cake!

SOMETHING THAT PEOPLE DON'T KNOW ABOUT YOU?

Im a very good Ginger (Auburn!) Spice…...

WHAT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT FACTOR FOR SUCCESS?

To never give up.

WHAT IS YOUR MANTRA AT THE MOMENT?

Do what I want!

WHAT LESSON DO YOU REFUSE TO LEARN?

To know when enough is enough….

WHAT IS YOUR BEST QUALITY?

My determination.
